Dislike: Cyberbullying e Psicopatologia na adolescência

Resumo

A presente revisão pretende identificar fatores de risco para ser vítima de cyberbullying na adolescência, consequências desta agressão na saúde mental e medidas preventivas disponíveis na literatura. Os fatores que predispõem à vulnerabilidade ao cyberbullying parecem relacionar-se com a existência de bullying tradicional, perfil de introversão e/ou ansiedade social, dispender demasiado tempo online e ter comportamentos de risco através de meios electrónicos. As consequências na saúde mental são variadas, identificando-se perturbações de ansiedade e/ou depressivas, alterações do sono, problemas alimentares, sintomatologia psicossomática, uso de substâncias, problemas de concentração e absentismo escolar. O papel dos psicólogos, pedopsiquiatras e técnicos de cuidados de saúde primários revela-se de extrema importância na prevenção do cyberbullying, podendo estes profissionais informar os adolescentes sobre os riscos online, identificar precocemente casos desta agressão e evitar o impacto negativo que este fenómeno pode ter ao nível da saúde mental.
